THE CROSSROADS AT WASHINGTON
DESCRIPTION
The Crossroads at Washington is a public-private partnership with A Community of Friends (ACOF), the City of Santa Ana, and the County of Orange. Located on 2.29 acres in Santa Ana’s historic Logan neighborhood, The Crossroads at Washington is an 86-unit, affordable development for extremely low-income families and Permanent Supportive Housing (PSH) tenants. Forty-three apartments have been set aside as PSH for those who are experiencing homelessness, and twenty of those apartments are designated for tenants impacted by mental illness. The Crossroads at Washington is one of the first affordable developments in the City of Santa Ana to focus specifically on families and special needs households with incomes at or below 30% of the Area Median Income (AMI). A mix of units for the family and special needs tenants are integrated throughout the residential buildings to foster inclusion. The design encourages interaction amongst all tenants via easy access and visual links to common spaces. ACOF will provide a range of onsite social services for the tenants, including health services, adult educational health, wellness and skill building classes. The Orange County Health Care Agency (OCHCA) will provide individualized services for tenants with disabilities.
